A little about Aldoricka Toy Dogs...

Aldoricka - Dorothy Bailey and Edward Bear

Aldoricka arrived on the Kennel Club scene in September 1973. Our name Aldoricka derived from our names Dorothy & Derrick. Our introduction to Cavaliers came from Storson Contessa at Aldoricka, (Sally) a Tricolour bitch who was very much a member of our family and a real cutie!

Our first class win was under Sheila Smith (Salador). We had a very first litter from Sally and kept a boy and girl; this became our perfect little family. This was over 30 years ago and we still have her breed lines with us today.

Since then our Aldoricka Cavalier family has grown to include all four colours. And extended a little further...

We have also successfully bred Bullmastiffs, including a World Champion, Ch Aldoricka Bronson. Two others from the same litter stayed at home and achieved championship show wins - including qualification for Crufts. So proud of them!

Our family has grown somewhat as we eventually bought a King Charles Spaniel after having been interested in this breed for many years, our little Annie -Downsbank Angelise at Aldoricka, she has had moderate success in the show ring. We were very lucky to add Magical Margot! - Maibee Margot, she qualified for Crufts at her very first outing, and she loved every minute! What a little show off! We also have Alizee - Othmese Alizee, although she is not destined for the ring, she loves showing off at home! (The family just keeps growing; now we are hooked!).

Japanese Chins are our latest additions, Edward - Pochinka Edward Bear at Aldoricka & Minnie - Pochinka Minnie Mouse at Aldoricka. Edward was already making waves at shows before he arrived here --- and won his junior class the first time I (Dorothy) handled him at Birmingham National 2008!

I enjoy judging and I am on Cavalier breed club judging lists, as well as running the Keighley & District Canine shows which is a great way to keep in touch with all our friends we have made over the many years of showing and to make new ones which is always a pleasure. Derrick is chairman of the Keighley & District Canine Association, gratefully, Derrick makes it possible for me to go out and campaign our dogs as he has accepted the role of Kennel Maid!

Until they branched out on to chosen careers our three sons; Timothy, Andrew and Jonathan, all enjoyed showing their chosen dogs, and are still on hand to help out if we need a holiday or a day off! We are to be found in West Yorkshire where our house overlooks the Worth Valley Steam Railway.
